RRB SSE/JE Exam
About RRB SSE/JE:
The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) conducts various recruitment exams to find candidates for different posts in departments and offices of Indian railways. Among the many posts that the RRB recruits for are Senior Section Engineer (SSE) and Junior Engineer (JE).
Both the RRB SSE and JE exams are conducted in 4 different phases.
Candidates applying to the RRB SSE exam should be between the ages of 20 and 34 with a 4 years Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering/ Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Manufacturing/ Mechatronics/ Industrial/ Machining/ Instrumentation & Control/ Tools & Machining/ Tools & Die making/ Automobile/ Production Engineering/ M.Sc. Electronics/ Instrumentation & Control Engineering from a recognized University or Institute.
The syllabus for SSE is as follows
1) Reasoning and General Intelligence
2) Electrical Engineering
3) Electronics Engineering
4) Computers Engineering
5) Instrumentation & Measurement
6) Information Technology
7) Printing Press
8) Engineering Drawing / Graphics
9) Environment & Pollution Control
The SSE exam is held in two stages of Objective type (Multiple Choice Questions) Computer Based Test(CBT). The exam consists of 2 sections which are General Ability and Technical Ability. The General Ability section is worth 60 marks and the Technical/ General Science part is worth 90 marks.
The exam has a total of 100 questions with a time limit of 90 minutes. Wrong answers incur a 1/3 negative mark in the exam so candidates will have to be careful while answering the paper.

SSE/JE Exam Pattern: The questions will be of objective type with multiple choices for the ONLINE (Computer Based) examination. The Question paper will have 150 questions, out of which 90 questions will be of Technical Ability & General Science and 60 questions from General awareness, Arithmetic, General Intelligence and Reasoning.
